Episode 052 – 3 ways to get out of a rut

Welcome to episode 052 of the podcast! It’s great to see you.

Today, I’m talking about 3 ways to get yourself out of a rut.  It’s so easy to fall into a settled or established habit or course of action, and we usually say we’re in a rut when it’s a boring one.  As we approach December, it’s very common for people to realise the end of the year is upon us, the last few months have flown by, and you’ve done pretty much naff all with that time.

It’s understandable to want to pin the blame for the rut on outside sources, but most of the time, you can’t change anything except yourself. Focussing on things you can’t control doesn’t help. Neither does crossing your fingers, hoping for the best, or sitting back and waiting for things to magically improve.

Instead, consider things from a realistic perspective. Ignore the external factors and consider which of your actions (or lack of actions) contributed.

Those are the things you want to focus your energy on.
